Terms and Conditions
These Terms explain the rules that apply when you use Puentes en Español, including Academy, Talk, classes, credits, payments, and consumer rights.
1. Operator and contact
Trading name: Puentes en Español. The operator identifies himself as Federico Hung, a self-employed individual in Spain. Declared address: Roda 8, Valencia, Spain; the complete postal address and postal code are still pending verification. Legal, privacy, and support contact: Puentes institutional email federico@puentes.one; phone for Federico +34678373107. Tax identifier supplied by the operator (NIT): z0601325h. Qualified Spanish counsel should confirm whether this is the correct identifier for the legal notice or whether an NIF is also required; the complete postal address and postcode also require verification before contractual acceptance.
2. The service
Puentes Academy provides structured Spanish learning, AI-supported activities, and, when available, classes with human teachers. Puentes Talk provides open-ended Spanish conversation through a real-time AI voice service and does not require completing an Academy lesson. Features depend on account, configuration, schedule, and available credits.
3. Eligibility and age
The reviewed application does not implement an age gate or guardian-consent flow. The operator must approve the minimum age, minors policy, and any guardian process before launch. Users must provide accurate account information and control the email address used for sign-in.
4. Account and Magic Link
Student access uses a one-time email sign-in link (Magic Link). Users must protect access to their email and contact support promptly about suspected unauthorized access. The operator must publish a support contact before final publication.
5. Student responsibilities and acceptable use
Use Puentes lawfully for learning. Do not disrupt or probe systems, access another account, reverse engineer the service, or submit unlawful, harmful, or infringing material. Do not provide highly sensitive information unless necessary.
6. AI tutors and generated responses
AI responses may be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable. They are educational assistance, not guaranteed outcomes, formal language certification, or professional advice. Verify important information and do not use AI output for medical, legal, financial, immigration, employment, or emergency decisions.
7. Academy classes and teachers
Approved rescheduling rule: you may request free rescheduling at least 24 hours before the scheduled start. The replacement time depends on availability and teacher confirmation. The flow cancels the original booking, waits for calendar reconciliation, and then lets you submit a new request; it does not transfer the original slot automatically. The 24-hour SQL change is prepared locally and has not been applied to Production. Production currently still uses the previous 12-hour self-service cutoff until an authorized release and migration. Under-24-hour requests require manual review in the prepared version; the approved one-time courtesy accounting is not implemented yet. A reschedule does not incur a separate fee or consume an additional class credit.
8. Credits and access periods
Academy and Talk use one shared credit balance: an Academy class uses one credit and a Talk period uses two credits for 30 days. The proposed local implementation sets new Talk periods to 400 minutes while preserving historical 350-minute periods. It lists a USD 2.99 Academy-only first-class trial, a USD 7.90 individual class for one shared credit, a USD 48 package for eight shared credits, and a USD 12 Talk period for two shared credits. The four-credit offer is retired for new purchases while historical purchases remain. A local additive ledger migration prepares 60-day expiry for new purchase lots, grandfathering of existing balances, and reservations that protect Academy class credits from Talk spending. These changes are not applied to Production. The displayed USD prices do not establish tax treatment; tax-inclusive pricing and a dated PHP reference rate remain unverified and are not promised here.
9. Payments, renewal, and cancellation
Stripe Checkout and payment webhooks are integrated for credit purchases. The reviewed code does not establish automatic recurring subscriptions; Talk renewal currently requires an affirmative user action. Live payment settings, taxes, cancellation, and renewal terms require operator approval. Final prices and conditions must be shown before payment.
10. Cancellations, refunds, and consumer rights
The approved target cancellation policy provides free rescheduling when requested at least 24 hours before class. The approved target also provides one late-cancellation courtesy for each individual, trial, or eight-class package, consumed only when used; a no-show may be recorded against the teacher milestone while preserving the AI activity and assessment; if Puentes or the teacher prevents delivery, offer a free rebooking first and the applicable refund if service cannot be provided. These operational rules are not all implemented and are not active until the corresponding server and booking controls are released. Today the student cancellation route does not issue a cash refund or implement courtesy counts, no-show notes, or service-failure refunds; Stripe refund webhooks only record provider events. No statutory remedy will be denied automatically because a package has started.
The approved commercial target is no voluntary change-of-mind refund for an already-used package; unused credits remain usable until their applicable expiry. This does not restrict mandatory withdrawal, conformity, non-performance, or consumer remedies. Where a proportional refund is legally required, calculate from the amount actually paid and correctly account for Academy and Talk credit usage. The application does not yet implement that calculation or refund workflow. Talk minutes and Talk periods are distinct from teacher-class bookings; Talk currently requires a user action to debit two shared credits, and its approved USD 12 automatic renewal is not implemented.
Consumers in Spain and the EU may have a 14-day withdrawal right for distance contracts. If a consumer expressly asks for a paid service to start during that period, a proportional charge for the portion already provided may be due when statutory conditions are met; refunds due must be made within the legal deadline. Loss of withdrawal rights after full performance depends on the required prior express consent, acknowledgement, and confirmation. Digital-content rules are distinct. This notice does not assume that a scheduled language class qualifies for an exception. Philippine consumers retain applicable remedies for defective or unperformed services under the applicable consumer rules. Mandatory rights prevail over a booking notice period or a proposed no-show rule.
11. Reservations and attendance
A confirmed teacher booking reserves the time shown in the student account. To use the approved free rescheduling rule, request the change at least 24 hours before the class; the available self-service route is cancellation followed by a new request, not an automatic transfer of the original calendar slot. A replacement time is not confirmed until availability and any required teacher confirmation are complete. Notify Puentes as soon as possible if you cannot attend. The proposed late-cancellation and no-show outcomes in section 10 are not active policy until approved and must be shown before booking.
12. Educational content and intellectual property
Puentes and its licensors retain rights in the platform, brand, software, and materials they provide. Students receive a limited personal right to use them for learning while access is available. Students retain rights they hold in their submissions and grant only permissions needed to provide the requested service, subject to the Privacy Policy and law.
13. Availability and maintenance
Puentes aims for availability but does not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Maintenance, networks, third-party outages, or safety work may interrupt features. Where practical, planned material interruptions will be communicated.
14. Suspension and account closure
The reviewed application does not establish complete self-service account closure and erasure for every data category. Contact and process details must be supplied by the operator. Puentes may proportionately suspend access for material breach, security risk, or legal requirement, subject to rights that cannot be excluded.
15. Responsibility and liability
Each party remains responsible as required by applicable law. Nothing here excludes liability or consumer protections that cannot legally be excluded. Any limitation, warranty, or remedy language requires jurisdiction-specific legal review; no blanket waiver of statutory rights is intended.
16. Changes to the service or terms
Puentes may update the service and these terms, identifying the version and effective date and giving notice proportionate to the change. If law requires renewed agreement for a material change, request it before affected use and avoid interrupting an active conversation where safely possible.
17. Governing law and disputes
The operator has selected Spanish law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply in another country. Consumers may use the courts, regulators, and complaint channels available to them by law; no mandatory right to complain or bring a claim is waived. Obtain jurisdiction-specific legal review before final publication.
